Description
Artesania Rinconada translates to "craft from the corner" in Spanish. This name originates from a collection of animals created by twin brothers, Jesús & Javier Calvajales, who immigrated from Spain to Uruguay in 1936. The name De Rosa comes from George De Rosa Thomson, who established the Artesania Rinconada company in 1975 alongside the Calvajales brothers. Later, George De Rosa Thomson's only son, George De Rosa Duo, founded the “De Rosa Collection,” which continues to be passed down. Their creations are solely focused on animals, with each piece handcrafted, reflecting a love for animals. Additionally, the influence of Spanish art figures like Miró, Dalí, and Picasso is evident in their work, which possesses an artistic beauty. The “De Rosa Collection” is known as a relatively high-end brand in South America, as well as in America and Europe.
