TSR Honda France team, competing in the World Endurance Championship, arrives at the Suzuka 8 Hours, the final race of the season, ranked first overall. An original 8-Hour sticker (not for sale) is included.
Honda Factory Returns!! Can Yamaha's reign be stopped!?
Last year, Yamaha achieved a three-peat and is now aiming for a fourth consecutive victory. In contrast, Honda revives its factory team after a decade, and Kawasaki calls upon Jonathan Rea, the reigning champion of WSBK. The F.C.C. TSR Honda France team is set to compete as the top-ranked team in the final event, the Suzuka 8 Hours.
The 41st edition of the event was tumultuous due to typhoon conditions. During Friday’s qualifying, Rea set a record time in the low 2:05 range, and his teammate Leon Haslam also recorded a 2:05 time in the changed top 10 trial, which featured 10 teams starting simultaneously—showcasing Kawasaki's speed. On the other hand, Yamaha’s ace rider Katsuyuki Nakasuga, who suffered a crash during free practice, did not participate in the top 10 trial.
Race day brought sudden rain before the start, forcing teams to switch to wet tires on the grid. The hole shot was grabbed by Haslam from Kawasaki Team GREEN, but Takumi Takahashi from Red Bull Honda with Japan Post surged ahead. As the rain stopped and the track began to dry, teams changed to slick tires, leading to an intense battle between WSBK riders Michael van der Mark from YAMAHA FACTORY RACING TEAM and Rea. The weather fluctuated drastically, causing multiple crashes and unexpected twists in the race for victory. The close competition for the World Endurance Championship title added more excitement!
